Spring is in the starting block. The snow is melting and everything is turning into a greyish slush. Soon the green tender leaves will start to sprout. A new clean sheet is being given. Just as God has done for us. He has forgiven us and taken away our sins. I might have said something about this before, but it is an important thing to remember that we are saved! We that have confessed that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour, Gods only begotten son. So there is nothing to fear, because we have been adopted into His family. Our sins have been forgiven and we are restored and lifted up by Him. We have been given a clean sheet that is blank, a new life.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"passage-display\"><span class=\"passage-display-bcv\">2 Samuel 9<\/span><\/h4>\n<h5><span id=\"en-NIV-8229\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-1\">David and Mephibosheth<\/span><\/h5>\n<p class=\"chapter-1\"><span class=\"text 2Sam-9-1\"><span class=\"chapternum\">9\u00a0<\/span>David asked, \u201cIs there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan\u2019s sake?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-8230\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>Now there was a servant of Saul\u2019s household named Ziba.\u00a0They summoned him to appear before David, and the king said to him, \u201cAre you Ziba?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text 2Sam-9-2\">\u201cAt your service,\u201d he replied.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-8231\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>The king asked, \u201cIs there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God\u2019s kindness?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text 2Sam-9-3\">Ziba answered the king, \u201cThere is still a son of Jonathan;\u00a0he is lame\u00a0in both feet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-8232\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cWhere is he?\u201d the king asked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text 2Sam-9-4\">Ziba answered, \u201cHe is at the house of Makir\u00a0son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-8233\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>So King David had him brought from Lo Debar, from the house of Makir son of Ammiel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-8234\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed down to pay him honor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text 2Sam-9-6\">David said, \u201cMephibosheth!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text 2Sam-9-6\">\u201cAt your service,\u201d he replied.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-8235\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cDon\u2019t be afraid,\u201d David said to him, \u201cfor I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan.\u00a0I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-8236\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>Mephibosheth\u00a0bowed down and said, \u201cWhat is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog\u00a0like me?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-8237\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul\u2019s steward, and said to him, \u201cI have given your master\u2019s grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-8238\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>You and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops, so that your master\u2019s grandson\u00a0may be provided for. And Mephibosheth, grandson of your master, will always eat at my table.\u201d (Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-8239\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>Then Ziba said to the king, \u201cYour servant will do whatever my lord the king commands his servant to do.\u201d So Mephibosheth ate at David\u2019s<sup class=\"footnote\" style=\"font-size: 0.625em;line-height: 22px;vertical-align: top\">[<a title=\"See footnote a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Samuel+9&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-8239a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0table like one of the king\u2019s sons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-8240\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>Mephibosheth had a young son named Mika, and all the members of Ziba\u2019s household were servants of Mephibosheth.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-8241\" class=\"text 2Sam-9-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king\u2019s table; he was lame in both feet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If David a human king to do this, then think about what God can do for you when he restores you and lifts you up.
